Travel hero dies

THE South African retail travel industry's champion, Anna Lia Nahon, who died on January 10 after a long struggle with cancer, will be buried at the Jewish section of the Westpark Cemetery on DF Malan Drive near Melville, Johannesburg on Monday. The time and date has not yet been comfirmed because flights still have to be booked and confirmed for her family who are travelling as far afield as Israel and the US. TNN will keep industry friends and colleagues informed as information become available from Anna Lia's niece Lara. Lara said there will be a ceremony called Prayers on Monday at around 18:00 (the time has not been confirmed) at Five William Road Melville. Depending on circumstances, Prayers may also be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, Lara. It is not customary to bring flowers to a Jewish funeral but mourners may make donations in Anna Lia's name to Chevrakaddisha - the Jewish Burial Society. A list of contributors will be presented to the family, Lara said. Anyone is welcome to attend the funeral and Prayers. TNW will publish an obituary on this much loved and respected person.
