The Turkish embassy has confirmed that travellers should start applying for visas online at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/tour/. While visitors to the country will still be able to receive help with applying for visas at points of entry, they are discouraged from arriving in Turkey without having applied beforehand. From April 11, it will be compulsory for applicants to go online.
Visas remain free for South African passport holders.
