THE Turkish resort Antalya was hit by explosions yesterday, according to reports from SkyNews and Reuters. The state-run Anatolian news agency was quoted as saying two blasts happened within minutes of one another in the centre of the city, wounding at least six people. Antalya is on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, and welcomes millions of foreign and Turkish tourists every year. According to the news reports, groups linked to the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) claimed responsibility for two recent bombings targeting resort areas and have threatened further attacks on other tourist sites.
