Since its launch in August 2019, Uganda Airlines has been planning direct operations to South Africa. In December 2020 Travel News reported that the airline would start flights to JNB that same month, with five flights a week, two of them flying a triangular service (with fifth freedom rights) via Lusaka. But the opening of the route was delayed and plans modified.
Uganda Airlines is represented in South Africa by AirlinePros. Karin Matodes is chief commercial officer, Robert Gray chief operating officer and Brian Dodge sales and marketing manager of the South African office of AirlinePros.
