THE Ugandan Investment Authority is inviting South African businesses to invest in Uganda's tourism industry. There will be an introductory seminar at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rivonia Road, Sandton on May 24. According to Francis Osuyah, of Phillips Consulting, the company facilitating the seminar, there will be opportunity for potential investors to meet top Ugandan officials and business people. Uganda has achieved an average economic growth rate of 6,6% in the last decade. The government is committed to full liberalisation and there are no exchange controls. Foreign companies are also permitted to repatriate all their profits. (Mark Gray)
