Agents, look before you book

23 Aug 2019 - by Jason Simpson

AIRLINK and SA Express

customers are arriving at

the airport to discover they

have been booked on the

wrong carrier.

The relaunch of SAX on

routes also serviced by

Airlink has careless agents

booking the wrong code

when ticketing Airlink or SA

Express flights, particularly

where departures are

scheduled at similar

times. Both Airlink and SA

Express operate an SA

code.

Agents are being advised

to make sure that they are

booking the correct code:

that is, SA8 for Airlink

flights and SA1 for SA

Express flights.

Rodger Foster, md of

Airlink, says the issue is

ongoing. “Following the

SA code, Airlink flights

will always have a number

series beginning with 8. SA

Express will always have a

number series beginning

with one.”
