Amadeus River Cruises has shared its vision for its Amadeus Nova, as part of a new generation of passenger ships that combine luxury, modern design, and technical innovation.

Set to commence cruises on the Rhine and Danube next spring, the new ship will set ground-breaking environmental protection standards through use of innovative shipping technology.

Its hybrid diesel-electric drive and powerful battery will ensure maximum engine power, significantly reducing emissions as well as the emission of pollutants by using specially developed filters and catalysts. Amadeus Nova will also have solar panels feeding electric energy into the ship’s circuit, innovative heat recovery systems, and insulated glass. It will use autonomous control and positioning systems, as well as a semi-autonomous cruising option increasing safety and fuel efficiency.

The ship will feature four decks, 12 suites with balconies, 67 exterior cabins, wind-protected lounge areas, the open-air Café Vienna, spa and fitness areas, and a heated pool on its sun deck.
