Bali measles alert

Travellers heading to Indonesia are urged to be vaccinated against measles after five Australians were diagnosed with the illness after visiting Bali.
An urgent public health alert was released by the Queensland Government Department of Health, urging travellers to look out for symptoms such as a non-itchy rash beginning on the face or upper neck, a fever of at least of 38C and/or a cough. Unimmunised travellers have been advised to get vaccinated.
Travelvax, an Australian company that issues travel health advice and medical services, has said that while generally a mild disease, measles can result in severe illness. It has urged travellers to check their immunisation status for measles and other childhood diseases such as diphtheria, whooping cough, mumps and polio six weeks before departure.
