The City of Cape Town welcomed British Airways back yesterday (November 3) as the first flight of the airline’s London-Cape Town service touched down at Cape Town International Airport.

BA’s long-awaited return comes soon after Lufthansa recently returned to the Mother City, arriving from Munich on November 1. The first Air France flight landed in Cape Town from Paris on October 31.

“Our destination marketing campaign went live in Munich, London and New York recently and we have also directed funding towards the Air Access initiative so that we can push for more flights to Cape Town,” says Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, James Vos. “We have also kept up engagements with consular representatives from key source markets that have helped us to secure more of these global connections.”
