On Friday, November 25, the Government of Brazil reinstated the requirement for all air travellers to wear face masks.
This applies to all travellers from the age of three years and older boarding and disembarking flights. Face masks will also be required within all Brazilian airports.
Passengers should note that plastic face masks or shields, masks with exhalation valves, cloth bandanas, single-layer fabric masks, and other masks intended for non-professional use are prohibited for air travel by the Brazilian government. Surgical or medical-style masks are preferred.
The government has been encouraging use of face masks since August, but has issued the new guidance in light of the recent rise of COVID-19 cases throughout the country.
