Breaking news: flight disruptions due to Greek strike

05 Nov 2013 - by Tammy Sutherns

Flights to Greece are expected to be disrupted on November 6 as workers across the country join a 24-hour strike.
The Foreign Office warned that trains and ferries will not operate and there will be no metro connection to the airport.
Air traffic controllers will walk off for three hours, between 12h00 and 15h00, which may cause delays and cancellations, the FO said. Passengers have been advised to contact their airlines.
The only airlines that have reported disruptions at this stage are easyJet and Olympic Air. Athens Airport tweeted that suburban railway and metro services would not be available between 09h00 and 12h00 due to work stoppages. Flight statuses can be checked below:
Lufthansa Air France/KLM Qatar Airways British Airways SAA Emirates

eTNW will update this story with any new information from airlines.
