Cathay Pacific has announced that it will be operating daily return flights – up from the current five flights per week – between Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport and Hong Kong, starting July 1.
These flights will be operated by the airline’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft, equipped with flatbeds in Business class, as well as Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
South African passengers wishing to continue their journey to onward destinations can connect to flights to other cities via Cathay’s home hub in Hong Kong, such as the Chinese Mainland, including the wider Greater Bay Area, as well as other popular Asian destinations in Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
The upcoming capacity increase comes after Cathay Pacific’s relaunch of flights between Johannesburg and Hong Kong in August 2023.
