Ceo of Cullinan Namibia Tours and Safaris, Andre Barnard Jnr, has welcomed the “small, but positive” changes to Namibia’s travel regulations.

“We are pleased to say the positive news announced a few weeks ago has already resulted in international business, especially from Europe,” he said.

 The latest regulations are:

  • All travellers, including tourists and business travellers, who arrive in Namibia must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test no older than 72 hours.
  • Children under five years are exempt from the test result.
  • Travellers arriving with a test older than 72 hours will be placed in quarantine and tested on the same day at own cost. If results are negative they will be released; if positive, they will be isolated at own cost according to Namibia’s isolation protocols.
  • The sale of alcohol by bars and shebeens is allowed up to 22h00 and nightclub hours will be extended to midnight. Physical distancing and other protocols to remain in place.
  • Public gatherings are limited to 200 persons until January 25, 2021. Registers remain in place for attendees.
  • Shopping outlets will no longer be required to keep registers of persons visiting their premises.
