Clarity on children’s PCR tests

The Department of Health has issued an overnight correction on the gazetted regulations regarding the changes to Lockdown Alert Level 1, which highlights that all travellers (over the age of five) may now present proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test result if they are partially vaccinated or non-vaccinated.

Children under the age of five can travel without PCR test results or vaccination certificates.

Here is a screenshot of the correction, shared by CEO of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, on his official Facebook page.

The correction was made following confusion by the tourism and travel trade in the interpretation of the new regulations.
