COVID testing now in KNP

The Kruger National Park will soon have its own COVID-19 testing station at Skukuza Airport and a testing laboratory at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), where samples will be processed on site.

Operated by Next Pathology and licensed by the Department of Health, both the testing station at Skukuza and the laboratory at KMIA will launch on Thursday, April 7, and will be open seven days a week.

Tests at KMIA will include the swift two-hour PCR Test, 12-hour PCR test and Antigen test. The testing station at Skukuza will offer the 12-hour PCR Test and Antigen tests, all at affordable rates. Furthermore, a nursing concierge service will be available for PCR and Antigen testing call-outs to lodges in the Kruger and Hoedspruit areas.

From November 2022, Lufthansa will operate flights from Munich to KMIA. Residents of the Lowveld using these Lufthansa flights to get to Europe will find great convenience in the pre-departure testing service.

The new test facilities also mean that foreign tourists using the Lufthansa service will not have to forfeit an entire day in obtaining the required COVID-19 test results before international departure.
