Demand grows for Africa Travel Week 2014

Africa Travel Week, set to take place from April 28 to May 3 and combine leisure, luxury travel and meetings industries, has been given strong support from regional exhibitors who wish to participate in the inaugural event.

Taking place in Cape Town over six days, Africa Travel Week will combine WTM (World Travel Market) Africa, ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) Africa and IBTM (Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings) Africa, and expects to attract at least 6 500 individuals as buyers, trade visitors or suppliers.

Private Safaris Africa – a leading South African tour operator and African safari specialist – is the first company to take part in all three events.

Michael Njogu, head of market managers for East Africa at Private Safaris Africa says: “After exhibiting at the successful ILTM Africa this year, we created many valuable business opportunities with quality buyers. By participating in all three events at Africa Travel Week, it will give us a greater platform to meet and network with new buyers – all on our doorstep. We are truly looking forward to being part of Africa Travel Week next year.”

Other exhibitors signed up to take part in events within Africa Travel Week 2014 include Vineyard Hotel & Spa – a deluxe hotel in Cape Town; Chitwa Chitwa – a family-owned private game reserve in Savanna; Prins & Prins Diamonds – a South African diamond specialist; One&Only, as well as Dreams4Africa; Wilderness Safaris; and Dare to Explore.

Craig Moyes, portfolio director of Africa Travel Week says: “We are committed to the African continent and its future as a global player in the leisure, business and luxury tourism sectors and delighted with the response to the inaugural Africa Travel Week.  We intend creating some big events to support the business opportunities for our participants and expect to announce these over the coming months.”
