LAM Mozambique Airlines is adding three destinations in Mozambique from Johannesburg. Flights to Pemba will start on January 29 and, from March, Nampula and Tete will be added – unlocking opportunities for both business and leisure travellers.

“LAM’s expansion is not just about connecting cities; it’s about linking aspirations, fostering growth, and making dreams take flight,” said a spokesperson for the airline.

Pemba

Pemba, with its coastal charm, is not just a tourist haven but a hub for entrepreneurs. The strategic direct flight to Pemba aligns with developments in its oil and gas sector, and presents an ideal opportunity for businesses to tap into the economic surge.

* Flights will depart JNB on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11h00 and arrive at POL at 13h50. Flights from POL to JNB leave on the same days at 14h30 and arrive at 17h20.

Nampula

From historical wonders to vibrant local markets, Nampula offers a rich cultural heritage.

* Flights will depart JNB on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 14h00 and arrive at APL at 16h10. The return flight departs at 16h50 and arrives in JNB at 19h00 on the same days.

Tete

Tete is known for its vast coal reserves, and flights are convenient for travellers in the mining and energy sectors.

* Flights will depart JNB on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 08h00 and arrive at TET at 10h10. The return flight departs at 10h50 and arrives in JNB at 13h00 on the same days.

After launching routes to Cape Town and Lisbon towards the end of last year, the airline has ambitious plans for 2024 and will extend its reach even further, connecting Maputo directly to key international destinations like India and Dubai. Durban is also on LAM’s radar as it continues to foster economic and cultural ties across borders.
