Air Mauritius treated members of the travel trade to a night of networking, delectable canapés and exclusive insights into what’s on the cards for the airline at a cocktail function on Monday at the swish Octo Bar at The Leonardo in Sandton.

Nooriena Davids, the airline’s Country Sales Manager for Southern Africa, led the formalities.

“This past year has seen many changes, flight disruptions, delayed and cancelled flights, and most recently, the cyclone disruptions. We want to thank you all for your unwavering commitment, dedication and support.”

Davids said the restoration of its schedules and maintenance of its fleet were the airline’s priorities for 2024. While Air Mauritius awaits delivery of an additional A350 in 2025, it will continue leasing aircraft to ensure sufficient capacity on its routes.

The industry was also introduced to Sixtine Marot, who has been at the helm of the airline’s sales and marketing team for the past six months. Marot expressed her gratitude to her local team for their role in the airline’s growth and revealed that the revival of the Durban route could be expected as soon as this year.

“Durban is definitely the next step for Air Mauritius in South Africa,” she said.
