A ‘Dusty Road’ to culinary delights

The Dusty Road Township Experience is a traditional Zimbabwean restaurant situated in the heart of Chinotimba, the largest and oldest township in Victoria Falls just 2km from the centre of the city.

Dusty Road’s founder, chef and ever-present host, Sarah Lilford, has created a truly local establishment with an original twist, with all the food being cooked on open fires in cast-iron pots to give guests an authentic, wholesome and tasty food experience.

Lilford’s aim is to improve the livelihoods of the families in Chinotimba through exposure to the restaurant’s visitors and the gift of human interaction over a delicious meal.

The menu includes a whole range of tasty treats such as utshwala (locally brewed beer); chimodho (toasted wood-oven-baked maize bread); inkukhu eleDovi (chicken in peanut butter sauce); and baobab cream pots with masau and munyii berry sauce, just to name a few.

Lunch is served from 12h30 until 15h00, and dinner from 18h30 until 22h00. Bookings are essential.
