EK shrinks SA schedule

Emirates has sent out a trade notice announcing a set of important changes for JNB, CPT and DUR flights, effective December 01, 2021.

1.  JOHANNESBURG

A)  EK761/EK762 DXB-JNB-DXB on days 1,2,4 stands cancelled until December 31, 2021.

B)  EK761 DXB-JNB to operate on days 3,5,6,7 as pax and cargo, and EK762 JNB-DXB to operate as cargo only, as per schedule below:

EK761 01DEC21-31DEC21 __3_567 DXB DEP 0440 JNB ARR 1055  77WR FJY (PAX & CARGO)

EK762 01DEC21-31DEC21 __3_567 JNB DEP 1325 DXB ARR 2345  77WR FJY (CARGO ONLY)

C)   EK763/764 DXB-JNB-DXB daily stands cancelled until December 31, 2021.

2. CAPE TOWN

A)  EK772/771 DXB-CPT-DXB daily stands cancelled until December 31, 2021.  

B)  Additional flights EK770 DXB-CPT and EK773 CPT-DXB on days 4,5,6,7 stand cancelled for the period December 16-19, 2021.

3. DURBAN

EK775/776 DXB-DUR-DXB daily stands cancelled until December 31, 2021.

Re-accommodation policy

Applies to all passengers booked and ticketed to travel from network to South Africa,  effective December 01 to December 31, 2021…

  1.  All tickets can be rebooked to JNB at no additional cost, rebook lowest RBD available in the same cabin. Update the endorsement box with waiver code - ROGW006 COVID-19 “INVOL REROUTE DUE EK/ZA FLT SUSPENSION”
  2. All tickets can be re-routed to JNB, rebooked in the lowest RBD in the same cabin, with interline flight to final destination as originally booked at no additional cost – subject to availability and interline partner flight schedules. Update the endorsement box with waiver code - ROGW006 COVID-19 “INVOL REROUTE DUE EK/ZA FLT SUSPENSION” 
  3. Full refund for unutilised tickets – as per COVID Waiver Policy
  4. Re-book for departures after December 01, 2021 at no additional cost – as per COVID Waiver Policy.

NB: Passenger who have been in or connected through South Africa in the prior 14 days will not be accepted on any Emirates flights.

Baggage policy as per original ticket will be honoured to final destination. (New ticket needs to be reissued as per original ticket mask)
