Emirates will start double-daily flights between Dubai and Johannesburg on September 1. On the same date, the carrier will start daily flights between Dubai and Durban.

The airline is linking some of the flights – the morning flight out of Johannesburg will go via Durban to Dubai and the second morning flight from Dubai will fly to Durban via Johannesburg.

Johannesburg service

Every day of the week, the morning flight from Johannesburg to Dubai leaves JNB (via DUR) at 11h55 and arrives in DXB at 00:55 the following morning.

The daily evening flight from Johannesburg to Dubai leaves JNB (direct) at 19h10 and arrives in DXB at 05h25 the following day.

The early-morning inbound flight leaves DXB (direct) daily at 04h05 and arrives in JNB at 10h15.

The mid-morning inbound flight leaves DXB (via DUR) daily at 09h55 and arrives in JNB at 16h15.

Durban service

Every day of the week, the flight from Durban to Dubai leaves DUR at 14h35 and arrives in DXB at 00h55 the following morning (direct flight).

The early-morning daily inbound flight leaves DXB at 04h05 and arrives in DUR at 13h05 (having gone via JNB).

The airline reminds agents that only transit is allowed for South African traffic, and those passengers need a negative PCR test certificate with a QR code, from an approved laboratory, issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
