Ethiopian deploys new aircraft on JNB route

Ethiopian Airlines will operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on all three daily flights between Johannesburg and Addis Ababa from March 29.

The B787-8 will operate flight ET848, departing Johannesburg at 08h20, and flight ET858, which departs at 23h00. Return flight ET849 departs Addis Ababa at 15h30 and ET859 departs at 23h00.

Flight ET808, operated by the B787-9, will depart from Johannesburg daily at 14h10. Return flight ET809 departs Addis Ababa at 08h40.

The 270-seat B787-8 has 24 seats in business class and 246 in economy. The bigger 315-seat B787-9 aircraft has 315 seats across two classes.
