Etihad boosts Sydney service

Etihad Airways will increase its Abu Dhabi-Sydney service to twice daily from December 15, in time for the Australian summer holiday period.

The airline will add four weekly flights to its existing 10, bringing the service to 14 flights a week. All flights will operate on Airbus A350 aircraft, offering more than 5 000 seats a week between the two cities.

The additional flights will expand connection options through Abu Dhabi to destinations across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Africa and Europe. Passengers arriving in Sydney can connect to destinations across Australia and New Zealand through Etihad’s interline partners Qantas, Jetstar and Air New Zealand.

“Double daily flights give our guests even greater flexibility when travelling between Australia and Etihad’s growing global network,” says Arik De, Etihad Airways Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer.

Connecting passengers can also add a complimentary one- or two-night hotel stay through the Abu Dhabi Stopover programme, which now includes Al Ain.
