Etihad Airways has unveiled its new first-class product for its Airbus A330-900 aircraft, which will join the airline’s fleet in September 2027.
The airline will add 15 A330-900s over five years, primarily deploying the aircraft on regional and medium-haul routes across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The new first class cabin will feature four private suites in a single row at the front of the aircraft. Each will have a closing privacy door and space for a companion to dine or socialise with the passenger.
The suites will also feature 80cm entertainment screens, wireless charging, dedicated storage and a personal ‘powder station’ stocked with premium amenities.
The aircraft will also have 24 fully lie-flat business-class seats. All will be forward-facing with direct aisle access and sliding privacy doors, as well as 44cm screens, wireless and wired charging and dedicated storage.
The economy cabin will have 252 seats, including 32 extra leg-room seats offering an additional 10cm of pitch. Economy passengers will have 34cm 4K touchscreens and personal charging.
The new cabins form part of Etihad’s ‘Beyond Borders’ product and experience, which will progressively extend across its fleet, lounges and ground services.
Etihad is investing US$20 billion (R325,9bn) in new aircraft and customer experience, including a US$1 billion (R16,3bn) fleet retrofit programme.
