Breaking News: FlySafair licence dispute decision delayed

27 Nov 2024

The International Air Services Council’s decisions about sanctions for FlySafair’s international licensing dispute have been delayed from their original date, November 28, as the matter is now before the court.

Due to FlySafair’s legal intervention, the airline’s international licensing issue is subject to judicial case management.

Out of respect for the court and the judicial process, all parties involved were expected to refrain from any pronouncements or other progressions until the matter was heard in court, FlySafair said in a statement.

The airline says the case is likely to appear before a judge in mid-December, and, pending the outcome of the ruling, consequent processes could be pushed into the new year.

“We will retain all of our backup plans to safeguard any operations but at this juncture there are no pronouncements expected on November 28,” said Kirby Gordon, FlySafair Chief Marketing Officer.
