Turkish Airlines now offers passengers “free and limitless messaging services” on international flights where Internet access is available – this includes the airline’s routes into South Africa.

To access the free messaging on board, passengers will need to be members of the airline’s loyalty programme, Miles&Smiles. Non-members will be able to use the service after completing the Miles&Smiles membership form available before or during the flight.

This enhanced in-flight messaging experience is available through apps such as WhatsApp and Messenger, among others.

Members of Miles&Smiles who have Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus status will also benefit from enhanced free Internet packages.

Turkish Airlines CEO, Bilal Ekşi, said: "We are adding another innovative development to the countless improvements we made for Türkiye’s aviation sector as the national flag carrier."
