‘Gay’cation in Mauritius

T HE first AfriGay event in Africa is confirmed to take place at World Leisure Holidays’ four-star Ambre Resort and Spa on the east coast of Mauritius, from March 2-7, 2020. The exclusive, all-gay event will be hosted by Cathy Specific and her Trolley Dollies and will have a range of activities to suit adults of all ages whether they are party animals or health fanatics. “Experience a beach yoga session, beach games with gay touch or test your fitness at a daily beach boot camp. Learn to windsurf or go snorkelling along the reef. Enjoy a cocktail at our daily pool parties, watch a movie on the beach or party into the early hours at Ambre’s Shakers nightclub. You can also meet and connect with iconic gay influencers and make gorgeous new friends from around the world,” says Michael Gladwin, founder of AfriGay and owner of The Travel and Event Company. VIP tickets are available, providing access to VIP areas, spa treatments, sunset catamaran cruises and a chance to interact with gay icon, Rocco Steele. Michael says they are hoping to fill the resort with 400 attendees from around the world and that it is being promoted by international gay travel bloggers and influencers. They are also leveraging off the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association for promotion of the agent and local gay media and radio
