GDSs get ready for PCI DSS compliance

29 Nov 2017
Comments | 0

TRAVELPORT and Amadeus

have both announced that their

latest programme versions are

fully compliant with the new

PCI DSS obligations, ahead of

the March 1 deadline. Sabre

also confirmed to TNW that

its platform was PCI DSS

compliant.

Travelport announced

that the updated Travelport

Smartpoint 7.5 and Galileo

SSL 3.0.0 programmes were

now available for download

and that both systems

complied with the new PCI

DSS obligations.

The GDS urged agents to

download the system upgrade

as soon as possible as the

7.5 Smartpoint version will be

the only technology supported

by Travelport from March 1.

Jannine Adams, senior

manager marketing at

Amadeus Southern Africa,

confirmed that the company

had received a PCI DSS

certificate following a

compliance audit and that they

were fully compliant. Amadeus

will not support protocols lower

than TLS 1.2 from March 31,

in order to meet compliance

requirements. This protocol

requires Windows 7 or newer

technology to be installed to

run effectively.

Iata has said that failure to

achieve PCI DSS compliance

by March 1 would result in the

issuance of an administrative

non-compliance, which could

lead to the removal of card

form of payments from the

agency
