Ghana’s Ministry of Transport is partnering with the World Aviation Group (WAG), a Spanish aviation consulting company, to establish a sustainable Ghanaian national carrier.

According to Information Services Department Ghana, WAG has shared a plan to invest in fuel-efficient aircraft, optimise route networks, implement eco-friendly operational practices, while following the best safety and customer services practices.

The company will also conduct market demand studies, develop a detailed business plan with financial forecasts, develop partnerships with international airlines, and implement a hub-and-spoke system to improve connections within Ghana and West Africa as a part of its strategy for the airline.

The proposed national airline is expected to create employment opportunities, support tourism, and strengthen regional air travel options.
