There will be no compensation for passengers who booked on airberlin before it declared insolvency on August 15 after leading shareholder Etihad withdrew support.
Up to 100 000 airberlin passengers with long-haul bookings lost out when the carrier ceased long-haul flights on October 15. Another 100 000 passengers booked to fly short-haul after October 28 are also set to lose out.
