The first Hyde Hotel in Africa will soon open in Johannesburg, near the Rosebank Gautrain station.

Ennismore Hotels and Kasada, a real estate private equity platform, have announced the signing of the new hotel, which effectively takes over the Voco Hotel in Rosebank.

The hotel, which has 131 rooms and 31 suites, will be the first property in Johannesburg to be managed by Ennismore. It will undergo a soft renovation to create a more bohemian feel that reflects the Hyde brand.

The hotel is in the same building as the restaurant Proud Mary, with meeting rooms also available.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this unique lifestyle hospitality experience to Johannesburg. We are proud to be once again partnering with Kasada to bring an Ennismore brand to Africa for the first time and to open in a new global destination,” said Louis Abi Abboud, Chief Development Officer of IMEAT at Ennismore.
