Iberia: Change from POS to POC

12 Jul 2019
Comments | 0

Iberia is also changing

its flight availability from

a point of sale (POS) to

point of commencement

(POC). This means that

the airline will display

the same availability

for the same itinerary,

regardless of the

applicant country.

Consuelo says this

decision was made

to ensure that all

customers have the

same price, regardless of

POS. The change came

into effect on April 2

and is available across

all major GDS and NDC

systems.

However, agents

must note that, to

request availability and

reservations, it must

be done sequentially

or simultaneously

(outbound, then inbound,

or simultaneously). To

make a change in a

round trip, agents will

need to book the new

outbound flight, prior to

cancelling the booking

that requires changing. If

the cancellation is done

first, the change will not

register as the system

registers a change in the

POC.
