LATAM to hike GDS surcharges

From May 12, LATAM will increase its GDS DCRS (Distribution Cost Recovery Surcharge) on specific GDSs.

Since July 1, 2024, the DCRS has been US$13 (R242,57) per coupon, regardless of the GDS used, and whether the coupon is EDIFACT (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport) or NDC.

Effective May 12, the surcharges will vary by GDS in EDIFACT and NDC:

Tickets issued through the direct NDC by LATAM connection options (API or NDC Portal) and certified aggregators are not subject to any surcharges.

New NDC agreements

LATAM also revealed that it had secured NDC agreements with Amadeus and Travelport, however the timelines for the launches have not yet been announced.

The carrier’s NDC agreement with Sabre went live on February 26.
