LATAM’s JNB flights on hold until Sep

Latam's JNB flights re-start delayed
Comments | 0

Latam has postponed the resumption of its long-haul flight between São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) from August 3 to September 2. This is according to Simple Flying.

Latam has not flown to Johannesburg for over three years since the route from São Paulo was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, the airline announced it would return to Johannesburg on August 3, which has now been postponed to September 2. The reasons for the delay were not given. Once reactivated, the route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that can carry 313 passengers in a three-class configuration. The thrice-weekly frequency will remain unchanged from that of the August launch.

Services depart São Paulo on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. LA 8058 will depart at 17h25 and arrive in Johannesburg at 08h10 the next day.

Flights from Johannesburg depart on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. LA 8059 will leave at 12h45 and arrive in São Paulo at 19h00 the same day.

The representatives of the airline in South Africa were unable to confirm this news or to supply any more details at the time of going to press.
