The Lufthansa Group has restructured its upcoming European winter 2022/2023 flight plan for Southern Africa, bringing back daily Munich-Cape Town flights and daily Zurich-Johannesburg flights on SWISS from October 30.

The seasonal Munich-Cape Town flights will have increased from five flights per week and are operated with an Airbus A350. Flights will depart Munich at 19h15 and arrive in Cape Town at 07h25, and depart again at 09h15, returning to Munich at 19h30.

The daily flights from Zurich to Johannesburg depart at 22h40 and arrive at 10h20. The return flight leaves at 20h20 to land in Zurich at 06h10 the next day.

In addition, the Frankfurt-Cape Town flight capacity will be scaled back from five flights per week to three. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, flights will depart Frankfurt at 22h15 and land at 10h55 the next morning. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, they will depart from Cape Town at 18h20 and land in Frankfurt at 05h25.

“After what has seemed a rather long winter in the Southern hemisphere, we now look forward to enjoying our spring and summer seasons, and for many of us we look forward to planning our annual vacations too,” says Dr André Schulz, Lufthansa Group General Manager Southern & East Africa.
