A series of celebrations, events and exhibitions are planned to mark the birth of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s baby.

According to HELLO! Online some of the exhibitions that will commemorate the new royal baby include ‘A Royal Arrival’ exhibition at the Museum of London, ‘The Royal Child’ photography exhibition at The Athenaeum Hotel and a ‘Royal Baby Shower’ at St James’s Hotel.

The London Eye is expected to turn the colours of the Union Jack and the Royal Mint has announced the release of a silver £5 coin with an engraving of St George and the Dragon to commemorate the birth of the future King or Queen.

Hello! also reports that there will be celebrations in other parts of the world. Toronto’s CN tower  will be lit up either blue or pink when the baby arrives and there are rumours that the same will occur at Niagara Falls. The tabloid also claims that in New Zealand, 20 of the country’s famous landmarks including Auckland’s Sky Tower and Hamilton’s Victoria Bridge will be lit up in pink or blue.

Online news site, Royal Central, has reported that flags have been put up around London, including Buckingham Palace, the Mall and at train stations such as Victoria, in honour of the new baby. A 41-gun salute is expected to take place in Green Park next to the palace shortly after the birth.

Heathrow Airport will reportedly also give out gift boxes containing British goods such as shortbread biscuits and Twinings tea to the first 1 000 passengers at each terminal after Kate gives birth.
