Major expansion for Botswana hotel

Southern African hospitality management group, Cresta Hotels, has added a new wing, with 60 new rooms, to the Mahalapye Cresta Hotel. The property is strategically located along the A1 highway, about 180 kilometres from Gaborone.

The new South Wing complements the existing North Wing and brings the total room count to 124. It includes 55 deluxe rooms, two presidential suites, two executive suites, and a specially designed paraplegic-friendly room.

MD of Cresta Hotels, Mokwena Morulane, outlined Cresta Hotels' growth vision, detailing ongoing and upcoming investments in diverse properties across Botswana. The company aims to be a dominant mid-scale hotel group in Southern Africa, with plans for technological advancements, including a new cloud-based property management system.

The new South Wing seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology with smart sensors and automated systems enhance security, while rooms feature high-definition smart TVs, smart lighting, and automated climate control, offering unparalleled comfort. Conference rooms offer state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, reflecting Cresta's commitment to setting new standards for regional hospitality.

Cresta Hotels, with a portfolio of 17 hotels, is a prominent player in Southern Africa's hotel management landscape, operating across Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa.
