Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, has inaugurated its first A330-200, announcing plans to launch long-haul flights to Canada and, eventually, South Africa.

The new 264-seat A330-200 will offer three cabin classes – 18 seats in business class, 36 in premium economy, and 210 in economy class.

The aircraft will enable the launch of direct flights to three major cities in China – Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. Thereafter, the airline has announced plans to further expand its routes to key destinations in Europe and South Africa.
