Monday Smile: Checking in for belly rubs

QT Melbourne has introduced its first-ever ‘Wellbeing Dog-cierge’, a 20-month-old blonde labrador retriever named Russell.

Russel, trained by Guide Dogs Victoria, officially took up residence at the hotel in late February, where he will greet guests, lead morning walks and spread wellness through his irresistible charm.

“Russell has received extensive training with Guide Dogs Victoria to assist individuals with low vision or blindness. However, his affectionate nature and playful spirit made him an ideal candidate for a well-being role rather than a traditional guide dog,” QT Melbourne said in a press release.

To celebrate Russell’s arrival and support Guide Dogs Victoria, the hotel is launching a series of pup-friendly experiences, with proceeds benefiting the charity.
