Budapest Airport has once again extended an invitation to the trade to participate in its annual air transport industry’s premier 10km charity- sporting event – ‘The Race to Find the Fastest Airline in the World’.

The race will take place on Saturday, August 31, on Budapest Airport’s Runway 13R-31L, where airports, airlines and enterprises in the aviation sector will compete in the hope of becoming the fastest airline in the world.

All proceeds from the run will be donated to the Anthony Nolan bone marrow transplant charity, and Hungary’s Suhanj! Foundation, a charity that supports the inclusion of disabled people in sport.

The event raised €57 600 (R917 000) for charity in 2018 and €190 000 (R3m) over the last six years. The stakes are high for those hoping to earn the title of world’s fastest airline from Aer Lingus, who bagged the award last year at the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run 6.0.
