Concur, an Australian provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions, has released its Expense IQ Report for 2013. The report, among other analysis, outlines the top most expensive cities to visit for business travel.
Four of Australia’s cities – Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne – are on the list with Brisbane one of the most expensive business travel cities in the world in terms of ground transport and lodging. Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in terms of dining and lodging.
Tokyo is also very high on the list and is one of the most expensive cities in terms of entertainment.
Also on the list are London, Stockholm, Zurich, New York, Paris and Dubai.
The report, which “provides insight into the evolution of travel and expense on both global and regional scales”, was developed by Concur via the US$50 billion in expense reports that it dealt with last year, giving them insight into how businesses are spending in the travel and entertainment arena as well as what effect location, size of company and other factors have on spend. Concur also asked IDC, a premier global market intelligence firm, to give additional insight on the data.
