Mountain scooter tours come to Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga’s Panorama Route, on the way to the Kruger National Park, has introduced mountain scooter tours with the launch of Long Tom Scootours @ Misty Mountain.

The eco-friendly Monster Mountain Scooter tours, starting at an altitude of 1 765m and descending 250m, can be found at Misty Mountain, a 280ha South African Natural Heritage Site on the Long Tom Pass between Lydenburg and Sabie.

Misty Mountain is home to Africa’s longest toboggan run and also offers guided quad biking, mountain biking, walking trails and birdwatching, while a restaurant and pub are open to day visitors.

“Long Tom Scootours is a natural fit and complements our other outdoor adventure activities, especially with the ideal terrain to make this activity even more exciting, while enjoying beautiful scenery at the same time,” say owners James and Lisa Sheard.

“Now we have at least a full day’s worth of exciting adventures to keep the whole family happy during a day visit, while spending a weekend at Misty Mountain provides the ideal location to also explore the Mpumalanga escarpment – God’s Window, The Pinnacle, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon – and the Kruger National Park.”
