MSC Cruises will install Starlink infrastructure to offer satellite Internet services on two-thirds of its ships by May this year.
The cruise line initially conducted bandwidth and data traffic trials using SpaceX’s Low Earth Orbit satellite technology in 2022. MSC has since installed Starlink equipment on 15 of its 22 ships, reports travelpulse.com.
The MSC Magnifica was the first Starlink-equipped ship in its fleet in December 2022.
MSC offers two Internet packages to guests: one for browsing and one for browsing and streaming.
