On September 22, MSC Cruises unveiled its Comic Con Cruise set to embark from March 15 to 18, 2024, on the magnificent MSC Splendida from Durban to Cape Town.

Comic Con Africa, dubbed “The Ultimate Pop Culture and Gaming Festival”, is an annual event that takes place in Johannesburg traditionally over Heritage Day weekend.

Comic Con Africa showcases a variety of vendors, exhibits and experiences including the Artist Alley, the main stage, an unparalleled shopping experience, international celebrities, esports, daily casual dress up competitions and more.

Comic Con Africa 2023 featured a star-studded roster of celebrity guests, including renowned actors (like the original C3PO from Star Wars, Anothony Daniels), beloved comic book artists, talented cosplayers, and industry insiders. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with their favourite stars through Q&A sessions, autograph signings, and exclusive meet-and-greet photograph opportunities.

The MSC Comic Con Cruise will take everything that fans love aboard the MSC Splendida including attractions like the 4D Cinema, Formula 1 Race Simulator, themed theatre shows, and Mini Ten Pin Bowling. It will keep some traditional cruise elements, but put a Comic Con twist on it.

The ship features swimming pools, waterslides, a sports arena, bars, a disco and a dedicated areas for kids and teens where families can bond over LEGO activities and enjoy quality time together.
