The Maldives has opened a new private island resort, expected to welcome guests in December.

The resort will be set across two natural islands – named Somewhere and Nowhere – in a Unesco Biosphere Reserve known for snorkelling and diving. The islands will feature nine residences with a dedicated bar and restaurant.

Somewhere includes:

  • Five villas with three en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to eight adults, indoor and outdoor living, a bar and a fully equipped kitchen.
  • Two larger villas for up to 11 adults, with access to the water sports centre and 24-hour, in-villa dining.
  • The seven double-storey villas will have 47-metre suspended sky infinity pools and waterfalls.
  • Spa treatments at the villa.

Nowhere is intended to be booked as a complete private experience at two main residences:

  • An over-water villa, with three bedrooms and a 15-metre private swimming pool.
  • The Presidential villa features five-bedrooms, a 28-metre swimming pool and its own private beach.
  • Nowhere is also home to Fehi Spa and the resort’s fitness centre.

Other features include:

  • A Roohu (butler service) for every residence.
  • 24-hour resident chefs to curate menus that can be enjoyed in the villa or at the overwater restaurant. Other dining options include picnics on the beach and barbecues on the villa deck.

The amenities of neighbouring resort, Finolhu Baa Atoll, will also be available to guests.

The resort can be reached via a 30-minute seaplane flight direct from Velana International Airport in Malé.
