New ITC model brings live bookability

Independent Travel Hero (ITH) is a new ITC model launching with a new 24/7 ticketing service.

It’s a business model for ITCs wanting to do both corporate and leisure business in South Africa, with a customisable live booking tool that doubles as a direct booking solution for customers. ITCs pay a fee per transaction and there are currently no join-up costs. ITCs retain 100% of any commission.

ITH has links to The Travel Group and has offices in Randburg and the UK. The local operation is headed up by corporate travel veterans, Earl Kennaugh and Charmaine Lucas.

Content is rich and varied, says Charmaine, with inventory from flights to car hire, transfers and hotels. A buddy system provides cover when a member is unavailable or needs to take leave, and corporate ITCs can ask for support from ITH management when pitching for new business.

Another significant advantage of the booking tool’s design, Charmaine explains, is that users can plug in any API and book rates available on outside channels.
