A NEW leadership team

has been appointed to

head up the merged

Rennies BCD Travel in South

Africa, following the September

announcement that Rennies

Travel had merged with BCD

Travel’s joint-venture partner in

South Africa, Connex Travel.

Since the merger the

company has been undergoing

a restructure, which has

seen ceo of Rennies BCD

Travel, Bronwyn Philipps,

leave the company. BidTravel

is recruiting to replace her,

with ceo of BidTravel, Lidia

Folli, heading up the business

alongside a newly appointed

team at present.

“Appointed as md of

Rennies Travel in 2011,

Bronwyn was responsible

for shaping and successfully

leading the business over

the past decade,” says Lidia.

“Having previously proven her

mettle as executive director,

business development as

well as leading several

national portfolios for more

than 18 years, Bronwyn left

an indelible mark on the

business.”

The new team include

long-serving members of

BidTravel’s management team

as well as new recruits. Chief

operational officer

Lynn Howarth has 38 years’

experience within the group,

and will oversee the strategic

operational management team

nationally. Jacques Leonard

recently joined the team

as chief commercial officer,

with experience in business

development, sales and

marketing. Cfo Colin Mitchley

has a financial background

that spans multiple industries,

including experience within the

BidTravel group. Herby Seedat,

who also previously worked

within the BidTravel fold, will

now be cio of BidTravel and

Rennies BCD Travel. Sandra

Engelbrecht and Yasmeen

Khan are heading up the

account management team.

Koena Lerotholi is head of

sales and Louis Graham

heads up the meetings and

events division.

“Evolution and agility have

always been key strengths of

Rennies BCD Travel and the

changes within the leadership

team present us with another

opportunity to evolve and

excel,” says Lidia.
