AT the annual general meeting held last week, Cape Overberg Tourism Association members accepted the new corporate image and logo as well as the more abridged name, Overberg Tourism.
"The Overberg Tourism brand is the result of an 18-month process involving a number of stakeholders such as the 16 tourism bureaus, consultants and many dedicated individuals who gave of their time and expertise to see this through," says tourism manager, Jolene Britz.
The marketing action plan for 2000/2001 was also presented to the members for approval.
The new slogan positions Overberg as the 'Guardian of the Cape Whale Coast' and the marketing campaign will focus on highlighting the serenity of the Overberg, the conservation ethic and hospitality of the people and the beauty of the region.
