Nigeria’s civil aviation authority has ordered all airline passengers to completely switch off their mobile phones and electronic devices during take-off and landing, ending the practice of using ‘flight mode’.
The Director General of the NCAA, Chris Najomo, announced the new directive at a stakeholders’ meeting last week. He announced that the ‘flight mode’ option would no longer be permitted on Nigerian flights.
“All mobile phones and other portable electronic devices should be switched off during at least the critical phase of flight on all Nigerian airlines,” said Najomo.
