OCEANIA Cruises has welcomed its newest ship, Vista, with the vessel ready to sail on its first cruise on May 13.

Vista is the cruise line’s first Allura-class ship, and features several firsts in dining, accommodation and the guest experience.

The 1 200-guest ship will operate with a market-leading service ratio of two staff members for every three guests.

It will feature all-veranda accommodation, with three categories of veranda staterooms and four suites – Veranda Staterooms, Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom and Concierge Level Solo Veranda Stateroom; the Penthouse, Oceania and Vista Suites, and the Owner’s Suite.

It has 11 culinary venues, which include three new concepts: Ember, a signature restaurant featuring classy American cuisine; Aquamar Kitchen, which brings wellness offerings to a new level; and The Bakery at Baristas, an expansion of the popular coffee bar, Baristas, serving freshly baked French and Italian pastries.

Vista will also offer an elevated mixology programme with speciality cocktails.

New Broadway-calibre productions feature songs made famous by some of the world’s most beloved artists, and contemporary dance numbers led by ‘Dancing with the Stars’ choreographer, Britt Stewart.

Vista will be christened on May 8 in Valletta.

Its first itinerary, a new Founder’s Cruise, will depart from Rome on May 13 and sail to Venice. The seven-day cruise calls at Sorrento, Messina, Argostoli, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Zadar.

After its summer season in the Mediterranean, it will sail to Canada and New England before heading south for a series of winter itineraries in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
